“Living consciously, on my own terms.”

About Me

Hi. I’m Qin Qin (pronounced Chin Chin). I used to go by Lisa Qin until I wrote a memoir and reclaimed my birth name. I’m a librarian, writer, and seeker. As a first-generation Chinese Australian, I used to be a poster child for the model minority. A quarter-life crisis led me to veer off-script, creating a fulfilling life on my own terms.

Throughout my journey, I've been a corporate lawyer, teacher, bush kindy assistant, and UNICEF worker. I was named one of the "40 under 40: Most Influential Asian Australians" in 2020, and I hold four degrees from ANU, UniMelb, and Harvard.

My life mission is to live consciously, with love and curiosity, while contributing towards a more sustainable and peaceful world 🕊. My focus for 2023 is "equanimity," and my motto is "go slow to go fast" 🐢.

In my debut memoir, "Model Minority Gone Rogue," I share my journey of questioning societal expectations, veering off the script of being a model minority, and finding a life that aligns with my own values.
